calling all musicians:local film web of darkness looking for songs
August 30, 2005 at 8:17 pm | In Film Studios, Casting Calls, Movies, Tampa Bay Area | 2 CommentsI received this via email:
The vampire thriller feature film The Web of Darkness is nearing completion. The film stars Tom Savini of Dawn of the Dead, Land of the Dead and From Dusk till Dawn fame. The film is slated to premiere at the upcoming Halloween Horror Picture Show in October. We are looking for songs to include in the film and a possible soundtrack release. If this is something you would be interested in being involved in or know of a quality band whose music would fit the hard rock, alternative, goth feel we want in the film, please pass this on and/or contact me ASAP.

whedonverse update:maybe a movie about spike
August 30, 2005 at 7:56 pm | In TV, Movies | No CommentsTV Squad reports that a TV movie about Spike, one of the characters from Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel, is in the works. Oh. My. Goddess. (to quote Willow from BTVS) I’m crossing my fingers so hard that this actually happens (and isn’t crappy) that I’m having trouble typing. tqobmweowu euuwr ewuq rjae

bloggin’ it forward:word whammy
August 26, 2005 at 7:37 am | In Blogging, Miscellaneous | 2 CommentsDaveDorm started it. He does it every week, usually on Wednesday. Seminole Heights has been doing it too, faithfully. Blog O’Mattox has joined the fun. I wanna play too!
“Blog it forward” means mentioning someone who’s on your blogroll and explaining why they’re worth reading. Do they make you laugh or think? Do they give you great information? Do you have withdrawals if they go several days without posting? Fellow bloggers, make sure you post a comment in DaveDorm’s Blog It Forward section about your BIF choice so we can learn about new and interesting blogs.
My choice this week is Word Whammy, where you can find commentary on politics, current events, books, film, religion, and pretty much everything else there is to comment about.
crazed fan boy reviews august’s coffeehouse film review flicks
August 25, 2005 at 4:09 pm | In Film Series, Movies, Tampa Bay Area | 2 CommentsMy life has been so hectic lately that I never got around to posting about the films shown at this month’s Coffeehouse Film Review. I had even taken my notebook with me that night and wrote down the names as they scrolled by on screen and everything (like the dutiful film fan I am). Heck, I saw Murderball a few weeks ago and never got around to reviewing that either (one word: excellent).
Thankfully, Nolan over at Crazed Fan Boy has posted his reviews so you can see what you missed. I’ve told several people about Batman:Dead End and Snow Day, Bloody Snow Day, which were two of the best shorts I’ve seen all year. Nolan also said hello to me in this week’s newsletter, which is just wicked cool…I’ll be floating on air all weekend. I guess you can call me a Crazed Fan Boy Fan as well.
